Toolkit

At the University of Minnesota, the Office for Equity and Diversity provides workshops for units across the institution that work with diversity. These sessions are meant to give a framework for how to begin the conversation within your unit, and to provide resources that will help you progress in your responsibilities.

The following tools have been amended from the workshops provided by the Office for Equity and Diversity. I have added elements to each that are relevant to library communities.

Equity and Diversity Activity Grid

This activity grid is a good place to start seeing how visible diversity efforts at your library are currently. Remember to celebrate the successes or programs that already exist!!!

SAMPLE ACTIVITY GRID (click on image for bigger image) Partial Activity Grid.png The top of the form is a list of identified populations. The side of the form is a list of activity categories.

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Relevant
  • Time bound
